How Do I Change My Georgia Registered Agent?

To change your Georgia registered agent, you will need to complete and file an Annual Registration with the Georgia Secretary of State, Corporations Division. The annual registration (which operates like an annual report) can be submitted online, by mail, or in person, along with the $50 filing fee. Here’s the rundown:

  1. Appoint a New Georgia Registered Agent. All Georgia businesses registered with the Secretary of State must maintain a registered agent in Georgia. This entity or individual must have a physical street address in GA and must hold regular business hours to accept service of process (e.g., legal mail or state correspondence) on your company’s behalf.
  2. File an Annual Registration. You’ll need to fill out and submit your Georgia Annual Registration with the Georgia SOS, Corporations Division. You can do everything online for $50. You can also access a printable version and submit by mail or in person, but keep in mind that there’s an additional $10 fee for paper submissions. You can access your Annual Registration through the Georgia SOS.

Or Have Us Do Everything For You

Are you spending hundreds of dollars a year on a fancy big name service? Or maybe you’re paying less but, sadly, also getting way less in return? We see it every day from clients changing to our registered agent services.

What makes us the better choice for anyone doing business in Georgia? We include all your business identity essentials as part of our core registered agent services, including free us of our permanent building address on your public state filings, mail scans, and a phone service trial. You also get instant access to an online account where you can receive, store, and manage your documents. And through that same account that you get timely compliance reminders along with access to a database of state pre-populated business forms and attorney-drafted Georgia business documents. Beyond our core services, we also offer expanded Georgia Virtual Mail packages and a Virtual Office service for your business identity needs down the line.

That’s a mouthful. What we’re trying to say is this: You pay less with us and you get more. We’re not just another invoice—we are an asset to your business operation from the jump. And as you grow, our local support can accommodate your growing business needs.
